THE SINGERS

Enrico De Capitani

Enrico De Capitani Born in Milan on 25 October 1960.
He studied philosophy at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart and Religious Science at ISSR in Milan.

He started his training as a member of the University choir and took private singing lessons: Gregorian chant with G. Baroffio and F. Rampi, medieval repertoire with Barbara Thorntorn and Benjamin Bagby in the autumn music courses held in Como.

He is a permanent member of Cantori Gregoriani, and considers this a long-term learning opportunity as well as a professional commitment.

Since 1987 he has sung with the choir Amici Cantores in Milan, and he is also their current director.
He founded and leads Stirps Iesse, a professional vocal medieval music ensemble.
He takes care of liturgical music in the Parish of Santa Maria Nascente in Milan, together with two close musician friends.
He has recorded 7 CDs as director of the ensemble Stirps Iesse, for Amadeus, Glossa & Paoline and about twenty as singer with the various choirs he is a member of.

He has written various articles for music magazines and has given lessons on various courses in Gregorian chant and lectures during events dedicated to medieval music.
